Wenatchee Complex includes fires in Chelan and Okanogan Counties.
PNW Team 3 will assume command for the Wenatchee Complex at 6:00 a.m. On Tuesday, September 11, 2012.
The Byrd Canyon fire started on Saturday, September 8. It was one of 110 fires started by a lightning storm. It is estimated at 6,500 acres, burning in young timber and downfall.
Highway 97A is intermittendly closed between Chelan and the junction with Navarre Coulee Road. The first three miles of Navarre Coulee Road are closed. 19 homes have been put on Level 3 evacuation.
The Canyon Fire is 860 acres. It is one of an estimated 110 fires that were started Saturday, September 8 by a lightning storm. The fire is located south of the City of Wenatchee, and is visible from within the city limits. 40 homes west of Sage Hills Drive have been placed on Level 3 evacuations.
